Top-level sport and school — you can do both!

Are you about to compete in an important tournament this weekend — but still need to study for an exam? We get it: combining elite sport and school isn’t always easy. But here, it’s absolutely possible.

At Haarlemmermeer Lyceum Tweetalig, you can perform at your best — both on the field and in the classroom. Since 1 August 2013, we’ve been officially recognised as a Topsport Talentschool (TTS) by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. This means we have everything you need to make both your sporting dream and your diploma a reality.

Ready for topsport talents

If you have an NOC*NSF status or KNVB talent status, you can perfectly balance top-level sport and education here. You’ll follow the regular curriculum, but if your training or competition schedule makes that difficult, we’ll adapt it together. This might include:

  • A flexible timetable
  • Adjusted exam times
  • Extra support if needed

Whatever happens, your final diploma remains at the same academic level.

To participate, you need an official top sport talent status from your sports federation. We also expect a true top athlete’s mindset:

  • Good planning skills
  • Discipline
  • Initiative
  • Perseverance

In short: here, you get the space to train, perform, and learn — so you’ll be ready for both a top-level sports career and your final exams.
